Forming metal using hammers and stakes can be one of the most important and useful skills you can acquire to transform your work. Whether it be achieving graceful transitions, gaining simple concave or convex contours, or moving into 3-dimensional hollow forms, stake forming is a must have skill for every serious metalsmith. The class will focus on stake and hammer selection, metal considerations, forming vocabulary, hammering technique and lots of hands on practice using mini stakes. This is a PROCESS class.
