Made of synthetic rubber, Armstrong sprue bases are made in the USA of quality virgin raw materials and therefore are sturdier and will last much longer than imported versions of this product.
This item is used with flasks that have an outside diameter of 1 3/4"". Tree type bases have a center hole that is generally 3/8" in diameter to accommodate a center sprue. With this smaller flask, you my not want to use a 3/8" center sprue in which case you should add some utility wax to the base of a smaller sprue rod.
